Physiotherapy Clinic Objectives
The main objectives of the physiotherapy clinic are to improve the activities of daily living and increase mobility of physically disabled people and to restore disabled people to functional living, including return to work.
To meet these objectives the clinic serves the following beneficiaries:
- Children (up to 18 years of age) receive physiotherapy treatment.
- Women receive physiotherapy treatment.
- Men receive physiotherapy treatment.
- Children receive vocational training and literacy courses through a UNDP grant.
- Disabled children are offered computer and English courses through a UNDP grant.
- Disabled people are referred to above facilities for further care.
- Disabled people are transferred from their homes to the rehabilitation center. They are then returned to their home or to other facilities.
- Families are trained in home treatments for a disabled family member.
- In 2005, Kabul medical college students did their physiotherapy practical work under PARSA’s PT supervisors' observation. New students are training in this program with PARSA in 2006.
- Five students of the Physiotherapy Institute did their practical study in PARSA’s Physiotherapy Clinic in 2005. New students are enrolled in 2006 classes.
- A physiotherapy training course started in Kabul on November 7, 2005 for seven students from Khost Province.
